Attractions

The main attractions in Kinsale Itself are:

Charles Fort, a magnificent 17th century star shaped fort.
James Fort, opposite Charles Fort on the other side of the harbour.
St.Multose Church, in the Centre of town and Desmond Castle, also refered to as ''the French Prison", which now incorporates the International Wine Museum.

The surrounding area also offers many attractions, here are some of them.
The Model Railway Village, is situated in Clonakility, about 40mns. drive, a great place to enjoy with children.
Fota Wildlife Park, at Carrigtwohill, is one of the most modern parks and features over 80 species from 5 continents. Well liked by children and adults alike.
The Cobh Heritage Centre, at Cobh is a dramatic exhibition of the origins, history and legacy of Cobh, which was one of the most important ports and emigrant departure harbours in Ireland.
The Old Midleton Distillery is well worth a visit. You learn the history and art of Whiskey making and can taste various fine varieties.
The Mitchelstown Caves, are considered one of Europes finest. The mighty caverns feature incredible drip formations of stalagmites and stalactites among them the inspiring ''Tower of Babel'' which stands about 0 meters in height. A visit can be easily accommodated on a day tour from Kinsale. The cave is open for guided tours all year round and is an all weather attraction.
