What
Captain's Quarters has to offer
you for a comfortable stay
Our rooms and facilitiesEnjoy
the maritime atmosphere throughout our house, all rooms,
the hall, the lounge and the breakfast room are decorated
in nautical style. There is a collection of captains
pictures and interesting nauticaliae (nautical items)
around the house, some with short explanations.

Our guestrooms feature wall to wall
carpeting, chairs, dressing table, lounge rack,
hairdryer, direct dial phone, tea and coffee making
facilities, TV and double telephone sockets to plug in
your laptop. In each guestroom there is a photograph of
the sailing ship it is named after with some explanation.
All bathrooms are tastefully tiled and consist of shower,
toilet and washhand basin. Heating is central, with
individual temperature adjustment possibilities for the
room. For guests travelling with babies, we can provide a
travel-cot and all rooms are spacious enough to
accommodate it comfortably. We take special pride in the
cleanliness of our house.
On the groundfloor you enter the hall with an antique
bureau which serves as a reception desk. The floor
surface throughout the groundfloor ( except the carpeted
guestrooms and tiled bathroom ) is of laminated wood
(japanese cherry). From the hall you reach the "Messroom"
where we serve breakfast.
The "Galley" (kitchen) is adjacent to the
"Messroom". There are two fully wheelchair
accessible guestrooms on the groundfloor. Both rooms are
also very convenient for senior citizens. These rooms and
the shared bathroom are accessed from a side lobby.
The guestroom ''Boa Esperanca'' is a
single room'' (1 single bed ). There is a washbasin in
the room and it shares the bathroom, which is adjacent,
with the twin room. It is named after the portuguese
replica of a caravelle, which serves as a sail training
ship. The guestroom ''Eagle'' is a twin
room (2 single beds). It also has a washbasin and shares
the bathroom which is adjacent to the single room. The
room is named after the United States Coast Guard Sailing
Ship ''Eagle''.

On the first floor the
landing features a series of prints illustrating the so
called "Grain Races". These
were races of sailing ships from Europe to Australia and
back. There is some interesting explanatory text. A
''Captain's picture'' and information about this art form
are displayed. On the wall there is a half model of
aYacht ''Fair Winds", she was opened and memorabilia
of her Sark Tall Ship Races.
From the landing you enter the residents lounge
called "quarterdeck" and two
guestrooms named "Asgard" and "Astrid".
The "quarterdeck" faces the harbour and the
Marina and the big window offers a magnificent view. It
is like a small martime museum, yet a very comfortable
room to relax in. It features ample seating around the
main table, which is made of an original sailing ship's
steering wheel, and a 3 seater couch. There is also a
single, very comfortable armchair. On one wall there is
an electric fireplace surrounded by a built in unit
mahogany and teak, which houses literature, music
cassettes and CDs for your use. The main features of the
decoration are the sextant (nautial navigational
instrument), several ''captain'' pictures'', compasses, a
handheld harpoon used for whaling. All nautical items are
originals and were actually used and infomation was
provided. The whole room is very bright as there are 2
more windows towards Denis Quay.
